Right now there is a kind of contest in my city about photos of Tres Cantos, so I'll take some of them to show you my city, although it doesn't have much to see. Anyway is a nice place to live!!
Let's go:
Tres Cantos from air...

We have a nice park with an artificial lake...

Sometimes (rare times) it snows in Tres Cantos...

Some nice fountains...

And this one with the town hall at the bottom

Sports in Tres Cantos...
the soccer field before:

and after:

Our soccer team Pegaso Tres Cantos is nowadays in the 3rd Spanish division, ten years from now we'll see them playing in Bernabeu Stadium
Hockey also in Tres Cantos:

And basketball...

Joshu, a Chinese Zen master, asked a cow:
"Do you have Buddha-nature or not?"
The cow answered: "Moo."

Nice topic!
And also nice pictures pepitopulpito and androl!
So now i'll post something from Haarlem, my place, and a nice city I think, at least the centre is!
The St. Bavo Church at the Grote Markt (Marketplace) in Haarlem. This church is famous because of his big organ, and because of the 'damiaatjes' which are little clocks which used to ring round 9 pm when the children had to go to sleep

Not a very good image of the Botermarkt (literally Butter Marketplace or something
)

At the Spaarne, the river which flows through the centre (or maybe at the rand) of Haarlem

A street in the centre of Haarlem
http://www.haarlem.nl/Pics/wp%20aanvliegfoto.jpg
The Waarderpolder from above

Het Wed, in Overveen, very nearby Haarlem

Statue of Laurens Janszoon Coster, who was, as many people from Haarlem believe, the inventer of the printing/typography, so not Johan Gutenberg

The Grote Markt again

The Railway Station of Haarlem

The Frans Hals museum of the painter yep you can guess it: Frans Hals

The Vleeshal in Haarlem. It means meat hall, cause in the Middle Centuries, it was the only place where meat was allowed to be sold. Nowadays this hall is being used for expositions, and so

The Teylers museum, with paintings, stones, things like that

The Toneelschuur (Theatre Shet or sth) which is used for oh really theatre, but also movies!

The District House with sculptures (you can't see it on the picture unforunately) of Laocoön and one other one which i forgot
, from the Classical Histroy. It is in the Haarlemmerhout, where also the Haarlemmerhoutfestival, and Bevrijdingspop (festival on 5 mai which is the day of the liberation of Holland in 1945

Het Patronaat, a big, kind of music podia

The Kenau Park, which is called to Kenau Simonsdochter Hasselaer, which was a woman, but she fought like the men, when Haarlem was occupied by Spain in 1572-1573, against the enemy. That's why she's also called 'manwijf', which means something like a mannish woman.
So that was it, maybe much pictures and a bit history with it but i was enthusiast

Here are pictures from my home town, Hämeenlinna. It is a small town, about 45 000 inhabitants but definitely worth of visiting.
Market square. The red building is the town hall.

Traditional wooden architecture. There are still left some buildings like this.

A famous composer called Jean Sibelius was born in this building.
This building represents the Finnish art nouveau style from early 1900's.
We also have an old medieval castle here.

The nature is very beautiful here in Hämeenlinna. There is a hill in Aulanko natural park where used to be a wooden castle in viking times. Nowadays there is one of the most famous view points in Finland.

Ahvenisto motor track and Ahvenisto Lake. There is an open air pool nearby where was held the swimming competition of Helsinki Olympics in 1952.

More pictures in the web site of Hämeenlinna.
