Good luck! Make sure you can escape if necessary. Hope the Pompiers de Paris do a good job.
And if you are not in danger: Make backups of all relevant data! Quick! ;-)

Not very good, is it? Will your building survive without damage?

No message from Philippe (EuroBillTracker) ever since he informed us about the fire. I am worrying this was more serious than it seemed to me at first glance. Would like to know what happened.

Well, I see that he has posted another 2 messages after 8:00 pm today. So I conclude the fire hasn't harmed him much.

Oops... didn't want to alarm everyone...

Actually what happened was that we started smelling smoke and opened the windows to look outside, a few people were worrying too that it might be from our building.

After investigating a bit, it turned out that it was the building behind ours. It wasn't "attached" to ours so we couldn't have gotten the fire to our appartement !

And anyway, the servre is not in my appartment ;)

Philippe which part of the city do you live in? (which arrondisement) I lived in the 3rd arrondisement on Rue Du Vertbois 10 years ago. I'm heading back to France for 15 days to visit family in Nantes, Marseilles, Nice and Paris. I will be closed from December 20 to Janurary 3. No need to worry about currency exchange!

Offcourse is the fire out after 6 days! :P :P

Philippe post the "fire-message" at 5 november, you said "Is it out yet" at 11 november

Only with a lot of trees it would be able to burn longer than 6 days.
