And, lazza, I met those damn midges 8O but only twice and they might have all been males because we were not bitten
(Anyway I had taken lots of insect repellent as you had told me. Thanks for your advice!)
Midgets as in small people? Isn't it against the law to spray them with insect repellant?

I go home to Scotland to avoid the mosquitos here in Italy and what do I find? Midges.......
We went by car, crossing the Channel from Calais to Dover (Seafrance is much cheaper than Eurotunnel) spending notes in Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium and France - when is somebody going to find them?
On the way back we took the ferry from Newcastle (Iazza's town!) to Amsterdam, leaving more notes on the ferry and in Holland....

Maybe I'll be lucky with those, the ones I brought back didn't give me any hits....

This year I went 3 times to Algarve (southernmost region of Portugal): the first was because of the portuguese EBT Meeting, the second time I spent 3 days in Lagos, and the third time I slept one night near Quarteira before continuing to Spain. In Spain I visited Huelva, Sevilla, Mérida and Cáceres, and some other less improtant cities and towns along the way. I also spent a day near Porto and almost a week near Lamego, in the north of Portugal...

I miss my 2004 holidays in the Azores... *sigh*

Next year I want to go on an Interrail :)

"Munro-bagging" 8O was - unfortunately - not among my activities on holidays, although I've always been a big fan and practitioner of mountain climbing and mountaineering.
Anyway I've seen some very "stimulating" mountains near Loch Torridon and Shieldaig and on the Isle of Skye, and all those blue 'Lochs' and green 'Glens' on our way. Simply awe-inspiring...

You've seen bits of Scotland I've never reached yet. That's the trouble with driving all the way there from Italy, by the time we get there the driver demands a rest... and I get lazy too, just staying at home with my mum or going to my sister's.... our only trip this year was to Edinburgh during the festival (the only wet day we had!!) to see the new Parliament building.

We stayed at home this summer. For only one reason, I was expecting a baby! I was due July 14th, so we could not really plan anything. Our eldest (age 7) had to go back to school half August, so we promised him to go skiing beginning of 2006. I am really looking forward to that!

Next year we will go either to France (Eurocamp) or to Denmark.
