It is a bit like ketchup but there are more spices in it and it tastes less like tomatoes. I don't like normal ketchup but i really like curry
Do you call the fries...

In the netherlands curry-ketchup is a sauce I was looking for a good picture but I couldn't find one.

The Force is like Duck-tape, it has a dark side, a light side and it holds the universe together.

Just come across this topic, so maybe my opinion is a bit tardy... however!
They are not called fries in English, they are called CHIPS!!!
I believe the reason they got the name French fries, was because chips were considered (in England, between the wars) to be "lower class", i.e. only suitable as cheap food for the working classes, however, posh (upper-class, BCBG)-type restaurants who wanted to serve them needed a posh name. Apparently, English soldiers fighting in Belgium in the first world war discovered them, but they thought they were in France, because the locals were speaking french. Presumably they were in Wallonia. So "fries" or "French fries" in English English are chips to ordinary people, and what other Europeans call "chips" are in fact "crisps". We buy chips at the chippy, eat them with fish and mushy peas, and shudder at the thought of putting mayonnaise on them like these strange Belgians do!
Is that clear?
Incidentally, I think that as Europeans, when we speak English, we should use the European/English version of the language, not the strange dialect they use in the USA
So no more talk of liberty fries, they are chips, no more collateral damage, it's killing civilians, the EBT06 meeting program (in another topic) should be the EBT06 meeting programme (we watch television programmes, we read theatre programmes and not theater programs, but we write computer programs).
Quit simple and logical, no?
laughing all the way to the insane asylum....
