Probably someone from that small town had made a trip to Italy and brought the coin in. Here in Hamburg we are still far away from everything. I only get about one foreign coin per week.matt.berlin wrote: Yeah, but I was in a small town not close to Italy .. not even near a motorway (nor a TGV in the département). I could understand how coins from Luxembourg and Germany get to the town quickly, as it isn't too far from either. Just thought it was strange my first "foreign" coin was in Vesoul ... when I had previously been in Hamburg, Berlin and Paris and only received the "local" coins. Ah well, stranger things have happened.

For me, it was only two weeks ago that I finally got a foreign euro coin in my change! I got a French €1 in change from the butcher's. Most of my colleagues at work had gotten one or more foreign coins but it's the person who wants to get one the most that has to wait the longest :)
As for foreign euro banknotes, I've had several so far (and have been educating others too how to recognize them :) )
My diffusion is as follows:
Ireland: 93.2%
Germany: 2.3%
Austria: 1.8%
France: 0.9%
Spain: 0.9%
Belgium: 0.5%
Portugal: 0.5%

I swapped two sets of coins by snail mail with a nice Italian from this forum, and it worked fine!

I've also made that experience. I think users are thrown out after a certain amount of time (to show the names of users who are "online" at the bottom of the index page; I also have to re-login to post THIS).matt.berlin wrote: That was mine again ... The session length is set at 1800 seconds/30 minutes. If you think it should be longer, just ask me.. But for now i would say, back to the topic of this nice post..micro wrote: I've also made that experience.
